Value Partners Chung, who has worked in the investment space for more than 20 years, previously served in various senior roles at LGT Bank (Hong Kong), SEI Investments, Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management and HSBC Asset Management.
Hong Kong-based has promoted Kelly Chung to investment director, head of multi-assets.
In this role, Chung will continue to report to the group’s co-chairmen and co-chief investment officers, Dato’ Seri Cheah Cheng Hye and Louis So.
Chung joined the group in April 2016 as a senior fund manager. She is also in charge of the group’s multi-asset strategy and execution.
HSBC
has appointed Yigit Onat as head of multi-asset, Asia, with effect from 20 June.
Based in Hong Kong, Onat will report functionally to Jean Charles Bertrand, global multi-asset chief investment officer, and locally to Cecilia Chan, Asia-Pacific chief investment officer.
Subject to regulatory approval, Onat will be responsible for the multi-asset team in Hong Kong, which manages HSBC AM’s flagship lifecycle, income and MPF multi-asset solutions. He will lead a team of six multi-asset investment professionals located in Hong Kong and be supported by more than 70 professionals in 14 countries and territories.
Most recently, Onat was CIO for HSBC AM Turkey where he led a team of 10 portfolio managers and investment analysts. He has worked in the industry for two decades.
The firm appointed Onat to succeed Denis Gould, who leads the multi-asset and wealth team in Hong Kong and who is due to retire from HSBC AM on 31 August 2022.
